The Advertising Federation of Columbus recently awarded nine ADDYs to Communicorp, Inc., and Best of Show, Print for a project designed by Jill Henderson. The ADDY awards recognize outstanding local achievement in design and print, and this year’s presentations were made at a ceremony held on February 27th at Columbus State University.
These awards are part of a three-tiered competition comprising a series of award presentations conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation. ADDY awards are also presented at the district and national levels.
Communicorp garnered Silver ADDYs for pieces designed for First Georgia Banking Company by Toy Bagwell, and for Communicorp by Howard Reiney. Jill Henderson and Dwight New won silver awards for two projects involving The Steeplechase at Callaway Gardens, the Chaser’s Eve invitation and the Steeplechase newspaper advertisements.
Gold ADDY awards were presented for the Aflac Amos Awards Banquet Program by Toy Bagwell, the Aflac President’s Club brochure by David Morgan, and designs for Eagle & Phenix Historic Riverfront Living by Robin Riley. Jill Henderson won gold ADDY awards for the Communicorp Holiday Card and for the Annual Fund Campaign brochure for the Youth Orchestra of Greater Columbus.
The Youth Orchestra brochure was additionally recognized as Best of Show, Print. Dwight New, Communicorp’s Senior Designer, was chosen Copywriter of the Year for his work with the Steeplechase material.
